Psoriazisul, descris de pe vremea lui Hippocrate, isi poate face debutul clinic la orice varsta, de la nou-nascut la varstnic (chiar peste 100 de ani).

Exista numeroase metode de tratament, cu diferente semnificative intre ele in ceea ce priveste structura chimica, calea de administrare, modul de actiune, efectele secudare. Monoterapia poate fi eficienta, dar asocierile medicamentoase pot determina scurtarea timului de trecere a bolii in staiul subclinic.

Varstele extreme (copii si batrani) ridica probleme in alegerea variantei de tratament, date fiind contraindicatiile fiecarui medicament si posibila patologie asociata.

Trecand in revista metodele clasice si noutatile intratamentul psoriazisului am schitat algoritmi terapeutici pentru cele doua grupe de varsta; exemplificam aplicarea lor in cateva cazuri tratate in ultimul an.

There are many methods of treatment, semnificativelly different in the matter of chemical structure, way of administration, mode of action and secondary effects.

Different therapies can be effective but the association between medications can lead to shortened time in which the disease fasses into the subclinic stage.

Extreme ages (children and elder) create problems in choosing the method of treatment, as concerns the contraindications of each method and associatid pathology.

We summarized classic and old methods of treatment in psoriazis and outlined therapeutic algorithmes for the two groups of age; we exemplified the application of these algorithms on some cases treated in the last years.
