PE3. Utilizarea inhibitorilor de glucozo-6-fosfat dehidrogenaza in tratamentul psoriazisului
PE3. The Use of the Glucose-6-phosphat Dehydrogenase Inhibitors in the Treatment of the Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a disease characterized by a high turn-over of the epidermis. The amount of energy required by this process comes from the glucose metabolization, especially by pentosophosphats pathway, revealing the participation of the glucose-6-phosphat dehydrogenase (G-6-PDH) as the first enzyme of this metabolic chain, The G-6-PDH inhibitors such as the ditranol have been successfully used for many years in the treatment of this disease. Another inhibitor of this enzyme is the ionic oxygen. We obtained the ionic oxygen for the treatment of the chronic plaques of psoriasis by using the benzoyl peroxide in an original formula. By help of a lot of 22 patients who offered themselves voluntarily for testing our formula, we discovered that in over 90% of the cases, the lesions cleared after 3-4 weeks of treatment. It is possible for the future studies to identify other G-6-PDH inhibitors which should be used in the treatment of psoriasis.
